Can Bassols

The story of this house begins with the story of our grandparents, Salvador Bassols and Dolors Massaneda. He was known as the Rodondo and she as Lola.

They were the owners of a small cabin on Tamariu beach. The basement was used to put the fishing tackle, while on the first floor they had their modest home, where they lived with their two children, Lluís and Josep.

Grandpa and his sons used to go fishing, while Grandma waited for them at the pier to help them unload the fish, clean up and patch up the fishing nets.

With the arrival of the first tourists, Lola began cooking the fish they had caught and serving it to them, right there the Bar restaurant Rodondo was born.

Over the years Lola, along with her daughters in law, ran the restaurant business while the men went fishing. The modest house grew with the generations and became what it is today.

The restaurant is currently run by Josep's family, continuing the restaurant and fishing tradition.

While the first floor is now the home of the family formed by Lluís and Anita. Us, their daughters, have other jobs, Dolors has a beauty salon in Palafrugell and Carme is a teacher. The two sisters continue with our parents' house, together with our own family that we formed with Joan and Lluís, children and grandchildren.
